![]() ![]() Make sure you are plugged in for maximum performance. ![]() If you think the C sleep states are causing the problem, for a test, you can go into the registry and disable them by changing the Start value from 3 to 4 as explained here.ĭisabling the C States will also disable the Turbo Boost feature but at least your CPU will run at a fixed speed. Help? :/Īre you using the Windows High Performance Power Profile and can you post a screen shot of how you have ThrottleStop setup? I thought the problem should be with the QC CPU power management, but after I tried it without an interface I'm not so sure anymore. (Needed better specs for my production work). I just swapped my 2011 2.4 GHz i5 13" model for this new QC one. And the 2011 MacBook Pro's FW worked fine. Is the Mid-2012 FW a bad one? I don't have any USB interfaces around to try either at the moment. I haven't tried a more intensive project that way yet, but I'm not going to work without an interface anyway so it doesn't matter. ![]() * Not using any interface at all, just the ASIO4ALL driver - No dropouts. Oddly DPC Latency Checker barely noticed these dropouts, didn't go to red at all. Dropouts start from the moment I open my DAW (Cubase). Constantly, enough to make working with the machine impossible. * Using my Steinberg MR816 X - Audible dropouts. I tried ThrottleStop (to control EIST, C1E, Turbo Boost and the other C-states) & Powermizer Switch (to control GPU power management). I did all the tweaks that are recommended for audio recording on Win7 laptops. So, I have THIS machine, except with a 7200 RPM HDD. ![]()
